Alan Moore BiographyBorn on November 18, 1953, in Northhampton, England, Alan Moore is best known for his comics. Watchmen will be the latest comic turned movie for Alan Moore, who interestingly enough, has no plans to see the movie. Alan dislikes Hollywood. He requested his name to be removed from all comic work that he does not own, including Watchmen and V for Vendetta. When asked if he was going to see the Watchmen movie when it comes out, he had this to say: "It spoon-feeds us, which has the effect of watering down our collective cultural imagination. It is as if we are freshly hatched birds looking up with our mouths open waiting for Hollywood to feed us more regurgitated worms. The 'Watchmen' film sounds like more regurgitated worms. I for one am sick of worms. Can't we get something else? Perhaps some takeout? Even Chinese worms would be a nice change." Alan Moore Career HighlightsMoore had several successful runs working for Marvel and DC Comics, but upon returning to mainstream comics in 1998, Alan Moore decided against joining up with either of the comic powerhouse publishers. He started America's Best Comics, where he wrote five complete series by himself.Alan Moore's YouthAlan Moore was expelled from school at the age of 17 for selling LSD. He originally wanted to illustrate comics, but shifted over to writing them. | |

I know he's had some bad dealings with Hollywood over the years, but he has some particularly nasty things to say about comic book movies in general. Here's one of his more recent interviews:
