Ursula Zandt became a costumed hero known as The Silhouette in 1939. She made her first mark by taking down a child pornography ring, then joined the Minutemen. She was expelled from the group in 1946 after she was publicly outed as a lesbian. She and her lover were murdered by an enemy from her days with the Minutemen.

She and Sally Jupiter did not get along, mostly due to Ursula's tendency to make allusions to Sally's Polish roots. According to Sally, it was Laurence Schexnayder who pressured the group to oust Ursula in response to the controversy and negative publicity.
